Apple Raises India iPhone 18 Pro Price to $1,725, 44% Above U.S. Level

$1,725 is Apple’s starting India price for the 256GB iPhone 18 Pro, making it 44% costlier than the same model in the U.S. as the company lifts prices across its lineup.
Higher memory-chip costs drove the broader iPhone increases, while India’s import duties and component taxes pushed local prices even higher; older models were also repriced upward.
The older iPhone 17 now costs $1,045 in India after a 21% hike, and the entry iPhone 17e starts at $836, narrowing Apple’s lower-cost options in the market.
India is a key growth market for Apple, with revenue topping $10 billion in the fiscal year ended March 2026, even as overall smartphone shipments in the country fell 7.9% in the first half.
That tension matters because India’s smartphone average selling price already rose 14.4% to $315, suggesting premium demand is growing but steep Apple increases could still alienate buyers.
