HarperCollins will publish Quentin Tarantino’s “The Adventures of Cliff Booth” on Dec. 8, extending his “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood” universe in novel form.
The release is timed between the sequel film’s Nov. 25 Imax debut and its Dec. 23 Netflix launch, with Brad Pitt returning as Cliff Booth and David Fincher directing.
Set in 1977—eight years after the original story—the book and film follow Booth in a later chapter of Hollywood life, though plot details for the movie remain largely undisclosed.
The project builds on a franchise that grossed more than $400 million worldwide and won two Oscars, while Netflix is backing the sequel with a reported $200 million budget.
Tarantino wrote the screenplay but declined to direct, saying he did not want a sequel to become what would be his 10th and potentially final film.
