Pixel VIPs 2.0 is now widely rolling out via the Play Store, replacing the old bottom-sheet contact page with a fullscreen layout when users tap a widget contact.
The update’s biggest functional change is a new pill-shaped switcher that shows all VIPs, letting users jump between contacts without returning to the homescreen.
Google also moved the Local updates card above Last connection, pushed Notes to the bottom, removed media and place recommendations, and added a top-right pencil shortcut into Google Contacts.
The redesigned widget itself is still not live, though version 2.0 already shows a preview with space for quick actions such as calling and messaging directly from the widget.
