Those are the kinds of traces that ordinary factory resets may leave behind at the physical storage level even though the phone is no longer accessible in normal use. The likely purpose is stronger privacy for resale, trade-in, enterprise handoff, or high-security situations where users want the storage media itself more thoroughly cleared, not just the device reset and cryptographic access removed.
