US Private Employers Add 20,000 Jobs a Week as Hiring Accelerates for 3rd Straight Week

U.S. private employers added an average 20,000 jobs per week in the four weeks ended Sept. 5, according to ADP's latest NER Pulse.
That marked a third straight weekly acceleration, with the four-week average rising from 16,750 for Aug. 29, 12,250 for Aug. 22 and 10,000 for Aug. 15.
ADP said the figures are preliminary and may change as more data comes in; the seasonally adjusted estimate uses a four-week moving average and carries a two-week lag.
The weekly series had slowed from 21,000 in late June to 8,250 by July 25 before rebounding through August into early September.
