Tuesday’s statement from Gable Steveson focused less on his first UFC loss than on denying sexual assault allegations revived before UFC 331, saying he “did not do anything alleged.”
Sean Sharaf had repeatedly called Steveson a “rapist” and “loophole” during fight week, prompting Steveson to revisit a 2019 Minnesota case that was dropped for inadequate evidence.
Steveson said he was never charged, faced no conviction or finding of responsibility, and fully cooperated with both law enforcement and a separate Title IX review.
The 2020 Olympic gold medalist also acknowledged Sharaf’s win in the 12-second knockout, calling it “your night” and saying the defeat would fuel his comeback.
