Ker’Sean Ramey’s fate was largely sealed by two pieces of witness evidence that prosecutors used to fill the gap left by the lack of forensic proof. The first was testimony from his accomplice, LeJames Norman. After the 2005 triple killing in Edna, Norman fled to Mexico, was arrested while trying to re-enter the United States about five months later, and then cooperated with investigators. At Ramey’s 2007 trial, Norman testified that both men took part in the shootings during the failed robbery for cocaine. That gave jurors a direct insider account from the only other participant in the crime. The second was testimony from Ramey’s former girlfriend. She told jurors that Ramey admitted his role in the killings to her in detail after the murders. She also said he asked her to drive him to a dam or lake, where she saw him throw two handguns into the water. Police later recovered those guns with her help, giving prosecutors corroboration for her account. That combination was critical because, as later court rulings noted, no fingerprints, DNA, blood or hair evidence tied Ramey to the crime scene or the weapons. Prosecutors instead built the case around Norman’s eyewitness testimony and the girlfriend’s account of Ramey’s confession and disposal of the guns. Together, those statements gave jurors both an accomplice’s narrative and alleged admissions by Ramey himself — evidence that helped secure his conviction and, ultimately, his execution.

Ramey was put to death by lethal injection in Huntsville on Wednesday and pronounced dead at 6:34 p.m. CDT, hours after the U.S. Supreme Court denied his final appeal.
The appeal argued jurors never heard mitigating evidence about his abusive, impoverished childhood, but Texas prosecutors called the claim meritless and pointed to an escalating criminal pattern.
A 2007 jury sentenced Ramey to death for the 2005 killings of Samuel Roberts, 24, Tiffani Peacock, 18, and Celso Lopez, 38, during a failed search for cocaine at an Edna apartment.
Court records said Ramey and accomplice LeJames Norman forced their way inside wearing masks, shot the victims after finding no drugs, and Ramey returned to fire again to ensure they were dead.
Ramey was Texas' sixth execution of 2026; Norman was executed on Sept. 16 for the same murders, and the state has three more executions scheduled over the next two months.
