Senate Majority PAC has created a new affiliate, Texas Forever, signaling Democrats are preparing to spend in Texas as James Talarico continues to outperform expectations.
10 recent public polls have shown Talarico ahead despite roughly $160 million in Republican spending, a rare position for a Texas Democrat late in the race.
Talarico has tried to keep distance from the national Democratic brand, avoiding appearances with prominent 2028 Democrats and pairing that with tougher immigration rhetoric and pro-oil-and-gas messaging.
His campaign has also leaned heavily on earned media: a Jimmy Kimmel appearance drew 12 million YouTube views, and a Texas Tribune Festival talk filled a 1,000-seat venue within five minutes.
The move fits a broader Democratic view that more red states could become competitive, though fresh outside money now risks testing whether Talarico can keep his distinctly Texas image intact.
