American Free Enterprise Chamber of Commerce launched “Socialism Watch” to track 32 bills in Congress that honorary chairman Jason Miyares says would embed socialist policies in healthcare, energy, labor, housing and taxes.
Miyares pointed to proposals for a federal job guarantee, Medicare for All, taxes on unrealized wealth and a nationwide fracking ban starting in 2029 as evidence the agenda has moved from activism into actual legislation.
Two of the biggest measures flagged are a $300 billion “Housing is a Human Right Act” and a $1.6 trillion “Green New Deal for Public Schools,” which critics say would expand federal control and squeeze private markets.
Miyares framed the warning through his family’s flight from Castro’s Cuba, arguing socialism impoverishes countries and now has enough support in Washington to warrant organized tracking.
