A minus-4 turnover differential and just 14 points per game under new offensive coordinator Mike McDaniel have driven the stumble, with losses to the Cardinals and Raiders despite the Chargers entering both as heavy favorites.
The hole is significant: since the NFL expanded the playoff field in 2020, only 16% of teams that start 0-2 have reached the postseason.
Harbaugh went 11-6 in each of his first two Chargers seasons, but the next six games—Bills, Seahawks, Broncos, Chiefs, Rams and Texans—could quickly intensify hot-seat talk if the offense does not improve.
