So players are unlikely to be walking onto an unplayable or clearly unsafe field, because the league and union both kept experts on site and continued monitoring through kickoff. But the surface is still more of a watch point than a settled issue. If the stitching holds, the field should be serviceable; if weak patches remain, expect some slipping, possible cleat changes, and close scrutiny early in the game.
