Offset package-on-package design moves DRAM off the hottest logic areas and adds a heatsink over exposed CPU and GPU regions, which Qualcomm says doubles how long peak performance can be sustained.
The standard Gen 6 adds LPDDR6 support and 8K30 HDR capture, while the Extreme version pushes to 8K60, adds matrix cores in the GPU, and expands NPU shared memory by 50%.
The launch sets Qualcomm’s high-end Android roadmap for 2027 and also signals the direction of its broader custom Oryon chip strategy, including future PC designs.
