CNET Ranks GFiber No. 1 Among 31 Fiber ISPs With New 2026 Scoring

CNET reevaluated 31 fiber internet providers under a new 2026 methodology and named GFiber the best overall and best-value ISP.
The new scoring weights value at 50%, then terms and policies, price transparency and customer satisfaction, aiming to cut through promotional pricing and hidden fees.
GFiber topped the list on speed-to-price value, transparency and customer treatment, with 1,000Mbps-8,000Mbps plans priced at $70-$150, though service reaches only about 1% of US households.
Other standouts included Kinetic for transparency, Breezeline for a $20 100Mbps plan, Ziply for a 50-gig tier at $900 a month, and AT&T for the broadest fiber footprint at 14% of US households.
The rankings land as fiber remains available to about 60% of US homes versus more than 80% for cable, even as average household data use is projected to exceed 1TB a month by 2028.
