Piacenti, a Chester, New Jersey, mother who had just returned from five months of maternity leave, died of her injuries; the 68-year-old man survived an abdominal stab wound.
Police said the attack was random and not terrorism-related; Cisneros had prior mental health-related NYPD encounters in 2018 and 2019, and the shooting remains under internal force-review investigation.
