Summary
Three suspects detained in Latvia in August have now been transferred to Estonia, where investigators say they directly carried out the arson attack on Milrem Robotics in Tallinn.
Estonia said preliminary criminal findings indicate the 15 August fire was commissioned, and Prime Minister Kristen Michal blamed Russian special services for ordering it to intimidate Europe and weaken support for Ukraine.
The blaze broke out at a building used by the defence company in Tallinn’s Lasnamäe district; emergency crews quickly contained it and no one was injured.
Latvian searches tied to the suspects seized multiple data-storage devices and items that may have been used to start the fire, while Estonia said the three are in custody and no longer pose a threat.
Michal said Estonia would answer with tighter domestic security, more support for Ukraine and greater pressure on Russia, framing the case as part of a broader Russian campaign across Europe.
