That looks dominant at times, not untouchable. Kansas City looks more battle-tested than explosive. The Chiefs handled Miami 24-10 with Mahomes completing 20 of 24 passes, and their defense again made the late plays that good contenders make. But the game also showed their limits: Miami, an 0-3 team missing key help, stayed within one score late into the fourth quarter. Andy Reid and Mahomes both acknowledged the Chiefs were not at their standard. The bigger picture is that the hierarchy remains unsettled. Buffalo is also 3-0 and ranked No. 1 by some outlets, Baltimore still has high-end upside despite defensive issues, and unbeaten teams like the Vikings and Raiders have complicated the picture. Through three weeks, the 49ers and Chiefs have separated as the most reliable teams, not necessarily the runaway best ones.
