Kristen Sargent, 21, was alert and conscious after falling from an eighth-floor window at Rambler Athens on Saturday, with police saying the incident appears accidental and not criminal.
Witnesses told officers she was dancing on a couch or air mattress near an open window around 7:37 p.m. when she apparently fell through the screen.
A metal bench in the second-floor courtyard appears to have helped break her fall; police found blood on the cushion and a broken armrest near where she landed by the pool.
911 audio captured friends reporting that she had fallen from the eighth floor and initially was not moving before emergency responders took her to a hospital.
Investigators interviewed Sargent and witnesses at the hospital while forensic personnel processed the scene, and the apartment complex said it was reviewing the circumstances.
