Summary
No. 16 Mississippi State brings a 4-0 record and 2-0 SEC mark into Saturday’s 11 a.m. CT home game against No. 7 Alabama, also 4-0 and 2-0 in league play.
Kamario Taylor has powered the Bulldogs’ rise, entering Week 5 tied for the national lead with 14 touchdown passes and leading the SEC with 1,377 total yards.
Mississippi State’s defense also arrives with momentum after sealing last week’s win over Missouri with 15 pass breakups, including five by Jett Jefferson and four by Kelley Jones.
The matchup adds national weight beyond the rankings: Alabama sits fourth and Mississippi State fifth in ESPN’s Strength of Record, putting Davis Wade Stadium in a brighter spotlight.
