Dayton Employment Opportunity Center Marks 5 Years With Free Community Event

Q: Beyond the 70s costumes and roller skating, what life-changing career resources are hiding at Dayton's Employment Opportunity Center this Saturday?

The real draw at Dayton’s Employment Opportunity Center on Saturday is free access to practical workforce help that can directly affect someone’s next job or career path. Beyond the anniversary festivities, the center is showcasing the services it provides year-round as an extension of Montgomery County’s Job Center. Residents can connect with staff and community partners for job search assistance, including help identifying openings and navigating employment opportunities. The center also offers resume-building support, which can be critical for job seekers who need to update work histories, strengthen applications or better present their skills to employers. Career development guidance is another key resource, giving people help with planning their next step, whether that means changing industries, advancing in their current field or entering the workforce for the first time. Training resources are also part of the package. Those services can point residents toward skill-building and workforce programs that improve employability and open doors to better-paying work. In short, Saturday’s event is not just a celebration. It is also a public-facing introduction to a neighborhood workforce hub designed to make career services easier to reach, especially for people who may not otherwise connect with the main Job Center.
