Galaxy S27 Ultra Leak Lists 4 Colors, Dropping Purple After 4 Years

Q: Does the controversial horizontal camera bar on the upcoming S27 Ultra hide a massive battery and a brand new telephoto lens?

Maybe, but there is no solid evidence yet that the Galaxy S27 Ultra’s new horizontal camera bar is specifically “hiding” both a huge battery and an all-new telephoto system. What multiple leaks do suggest is that the redesign could serve practical purposes beyond aesthetics. Several reports say the wider rear camera plateau may free internal space for a larger battery and for native Qi2 magnets. Battery rumors are relatively consistent: a rated cell around 5,534mAh has been reported, which would likely translate to a marketed capacity of roughly 5,700 to 5,800mAh. If that is accurate, it would be Samsung’s biggest Ultra battery jump in years. The camera side is murkier, but there is a meaningful shift in the rumors. Multiple reports say Samsung may drop the long-used 10MP 3x telephoto camera entirely, leaving the S27 Ultra with three rear cameras instead of four. Most leaks point to a 200MP main camera, a 50MP ultrawide, and a 50MP 5x telephoto. Some reports describe that zoom camera as a new 50MP 4x lens, while others say it may keep a sensor physically similar to the current 5x unit but benefit from revised optics or processing. So a telephoto change looks likely, but “brand new” is not fully confirmed. In short, the camera bar is widely rumored to support a larger battery and a revised zoom setup, but both claims remain unconfirmed until Samsung announces the phone, expected early next year.

Four base colors—Black, Blue, Light Pink and White—were tipped for Samsung’s Galaxy S27 Ultra, with Purple absent from the latest leak.
UniverseIce’s post conflicts with earlier reports of five colors and leaves open whether Samsung cut Purple entirely or shifted it to an online-exclusive option.
A Purple omission would break a four-year run of Galaxy S Ultra models carrying a lavender-like shade, including the S23 Ultra’s Lavender finish in 2023.
Samsung is expected to launch the S27 Ultra early next year, and leaks already point to a broader redesign with a full-width rear camera island.
