Summary
Tuesday’s launch pairs AI Workflow Factory with Autonomous Engineer to help enterprises find automation opportunities, build workflows and keep improving them in a single system.
ServiceNow said the setup links Process Mining, Build Agent and App Engine into a “continuous workflow improvement loop,” so one workflow’s results can surface the next process to automate.
Autonomous Engineer handles planning, coding and testing of implementation work after human approval, while AI Workflow Factory is globally available and the coding agent is in early access on request.
Greyhound Research’s Sanchit Vir Gogia said the tools could ease repetitive implementation, but data integration, process ownership and recurring platform costs still determine whether automation delivers lasting savings.
ServiceNow is also pushing governance through AI Control Tower and Action Fabric, though Gogia warned enterprises still need explicit authority, revocation and audit controls across both ServiceNow and third-party agents.
Can ServiceNow's new AI agents truly fix broken enterprise processes, or will they merely execute deeply flawed workflows at unprecedented speeds?
While Autonomous Engineer writes code unattended, who is ultimately held responsible when an AI-generated workflow triggers a critical multi-system failure?
Will the hidden compute costs of running a continuous AI improvement loop ultimately devour the exact financial ROI that CIOs desperately seek?
