Summary
Equis’ August national poll put Trump at 31% approval and 63% disapproval among Latinos, with 42% of Latinos who backed him in 2024 now saying they are disappointed or regret it.
A -57 net rating on cost of living led the slide, while concern about immigration overreach doubled to 20% from 10% since May as voters said raids were hitting people who followed the rules.
In Texas, where Trump is rallying in San Antonio, 63% of Latinos disapproved and 31% approved; 37% named the economy and costs as the top problem, and 43% blamed Trump or the federal government for their financial strain.
That erosion is cutting into GOP midterm math: the share of 2024 Trump Latino voters planning to stick with Republicans fell to 76% from 86%, potentially blunting a Texas redistricting push aimed at gaining five House seats.
Democrats are benefiting but not locking in a durable realignment, Equis said, as Latino frustration with Trump has yet to become firm loyalty to Democrats ahead of 2028.
