Five 15-minute episodes will make up Coltrane, a new VR noir series from New Canvas, Jacaranda Productions and Pico due later this year.
Set in Hong Kong, the story follows ex-SFPD detective turned private investigator Veronica Coltrane, whose surveillance job pulls her into a conspiracy.
New Canvas says the series blends live-action performances with real-time immersive environments, pushing further the mix of storytelling, game design and interactivity explored in VR Noir.
VR Noir: A Day Before the Night debuted in 2016 and later topped 500,000 downloads on Samsung Gear VR and Google Cardboard, giving the follow-up an established audience.
