Samoa Joe Clinches WrestleDream Spot With Grand Slam France Win, Joining 8-Man Clockwork Carnage

Q: Who will claim the remaining spots to face titans like Joe and Ospreay in the brutal new Clockwork Carnage match?

The remaining places in AEW’s Clockwork Carnage match are still open, and only two entrants are confirmed so far: AEW World Champion Will Ospreay and Samoa Joe. The next spot will be decided on Saturday’s “Collision,” where ROH Pure Champion Lee Moriarty faces “Speedball” Mike Bailey in a qualifier. Beyond that, AEW has not officially named the other qualifying matches or participants yet, so any full field remains speculative. What is clear is that AEW is building the WrestleDream title match around a mix of proven main-event names and dangerous specialists suited to the format. Joe’s qualification immediately adds a former world champion with elimination-match credibility, while Ospreay enters as the defending champion and one of the architects of the stipulation. Bailey and Moriarty are both logical fits for the remaining field because the rules reward endurance, versatility and the ability to score repeated pinfalls or submissions once the timed second phase begins. Based on the current information, the most accurate answer is that no one can yet say definitively who will claim the remaining spots. The field is still being assembled through qualifiers, with Moriarty or Bailey set to become the next confirmed entrant and several more places still to be announced before WrestleDream on Oct. 17 in Orlando.

Samoa Joe secured a WrestleDream berth by beating Jack Perry in a Clockwork Carnage qualifier on AEW Dynamite’s Grand Slam France special.
A kick to Perry’s head stopped a top-rope attempt, and Joe finished the match with a Muscle Buster and pinfall.
Will Ospreay also locked in his place by retaining the AEW World Championship against Kazuchika Okada later that night, while Mike Bailey and Lee Moriarty will fight for another spot on Saturday’s Collision.
Eight wrestlers will enter Clockwork Carnage on Oct. 17 in Orlando, starting with staggered entries every 3 minutes before a 15-minute scoring phase decides the winner.
