Summary
Nearly $20,000 in Vicente Gonzalez campaign spending went to travel and upscale hospitality tied to trips with his wife, including Disney World, Abu Dhabi, Rome and Zurich, according to FEC records reviewed in the report.
The scrutiny is sharpened by Gonzalez's own October 2025 attack on Republican Mayra Flores for allegedly "living the good life" on donor money over Disney-related spending, even though his campaign reported $1,122.76 in Disney resort payments around his April 2025 family trip.
More than $13,000 of the spending came from a 2024 UAE trip, with filings showing Emirates airfare and Abu Dhabi hotel costs while Gonzalez posted photos of sightseeing and described part of the visit as an "after campaign break."
Other disclosed expenses included $395 at a Michelin-starred Zurich restaurant, $442.41 at a five-star Rome hotel and thousands more at high-end U.S. restaurants and resorts from 2024 to 2026.
Gonzalez's campaign manager said every dollar was legal and publicly disclosed, arguing the trips were tied to official or campaign business; FEC rules allow such spending only when connected to campaign or official duties, not personal vacations.
