Summary
A judge in Ensenada on Friday found Jesús Gerardo García, Irineo Francisco "N" and Ángel Jesús "N" guilty of murdering Australians Callum and Jake Robinson and American Carter Redd Rhoad.
The court also convicted the three men of armed robbery and armed carjacking, after prosecutors said the April 2024 attack in Baja California began as a robbery of the surfers' truck and belongings.
Trial testimony said García arrived at the victims' tent with a 9 mm pistol, ignored pleas for mercy and later dumped the three bodies in a well near Punta San Jose, where they were found on May 3, 2024.
The judge is due to announce sentences on Oct. 16, with Baja California prosecutors seeking 210 years in prison for each defendant.
A fourth participant — García's ex-partner — was sentenced in November 2025 to 20 years after pleading guilty to violent robbery and vehicle theft for helping set up the crime.
