Summary
Eight timestamped security-camera images shared Monday appear to show James Talarico at his Austin home from Oct. 1 to Oct. 8, directly challenging claims he vanished for unexplained reasons.
CBS News matched backyard features in the low-resolution SimpliSafe images to recent satellite imagery of Talarico’s address; the campaign says they show him recovering from the flu at home.
The release follows nearly two weeks off the trail, canceled appearances and attacks from Republican rival Ken Paxton and President Trump, who amplified questions about where Talarico had been.
Rumors that Talarico sought mental health treatment in Ohio also spread online, but the Lindner Center of Hope said he “has never received treatment” there.
Talarico resurfaced publicly on Oct. 9 at Austin City Limits and has since said he was bedridden with a bad flu but continued some campaign work from home.
