Summary
Coastal Carolina will wear 1990s-themed throwback uniforms Friday against Appalachian State, turning its latest football look into the centerpiece of a standalone national-TV game.
The school said the design draws on the oversized, colorful style of 1990s shows including Saved by the Bell, Boy Meets World, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air and Friends.
The reveal fits a program already known for bold visuals, from its teal field to unconventional uniform concepts, and is aimed as much at attention and nostalgia as on-field tradition.
The jerseys have split fans between those who prefer standard home colors and those embracing the stunt, but the rollout is positioned to keep Coastal Carolina in the spotlight regardless of the result.
