Fifteen staff at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust have now been dismissed for improperly accessing the medical records of victims of the 2023 Nottingham attacks, up from 11 sackings disclosed in May.
Seventeen more staff were disciplined—15 with final written warnings and two with first written warnings—while two cases were dropped; the trust said doctors, nurses and other staff were involved.
The trust has notified regulators, the Information Commissioner's Office and Nottinghamshire Police, and said investigations are still examining access to records linked to surviving victims Wayne Birkett, Sharon Miller and Marcin Gawronski.
NUH said it is testing a new breach-detection system and has run a staff privacy campaign, as the Nottingham Inquiry examines wider failures by agencies before and after Valdo Calocane's June 2023 killings.
