Summary
Hundreds of 'No Kings Day' demonstrations are scheduled across the United States on Saturday, including multiple rallies in New York City, New Jersey and Long Island.
The 50501 Movement says the protests target Trump administration policies and what organizers call authoritarianism, billionaire-first politics and the militarization of democracy.
New York-area events include gatherings at Moynihan Station, the Bronx, Brooklyn, Jackson Heights and Washington Heights, with online tools directing participants to nearby protests.
New York City faces added travel strain because the rallies coincide with already planned weekend street closures, though NYPD had not announced protest-specific road shutdowns.
