Summary
Julian Sayin will miss several weeks with an injury to his throwing shoulder after leaving Ohio State's 19-15 win at No. 5 Indiana in the fourth quarter.
Ryan Day said Sayin was hurt when Indiana's Mario Landino sacked him, hit his right shoulder and forced a fumble; Sayin later emerged with his arm in a sling.
Luke Fahey, a true freshman who replaced Sayin, will remain the Buckeyes' starter during the absence after taking over late Saturday and helping Ohio State close out the win.
Sayin had been completing 71.2% of his passes for 1,772 yards with 17 touchdowns and two interceptions this season after becoming a Heisman finalist last year.
Ohio State has a bye next weekend before traveling to No. 19 USC on Oct. 31, giving Day time to adjust the offense around Fahey.
