Hegseth Visits US Central Command, Praises Troops on 'Historic' Mission

Q: What secret military actions were discussed during Hegseth's unannounced meeting with Netanyahu just days before Israel's elections?

No specific secret military actions from Pete Hegseth’s unannounced meeting with Benjamin Netanyahu have been publicly disclosed. Reporting from Axios, CBS News and Israeli outlets indicates the two met quietly at Ovda Air Base in southern Israel, a site used by U.S. refueling aircraft and fighter jets. The timing and location fueled speculation that they discussed contingency planning tied to Iran, especially the possibility of renewed joint U.S.-Israeli military action. The broader context points to several likely topics: preparations for another strike on Iranian nuclear or military facilities, CENTCOM readiness, and the positioning of U.S. assets in the region. Related reporting says U.S. and Israeli officials had been weighing future operations against Iran, and that the Pentagon had directed CENTCOM to be prepared for possible large-scale action if ordered. Other reports also describe expanded U.S. drone initiatives and force-protection measures across the region. Still, the central fact is that no government has released an official readout, and no verified account has confirmed exactly what operational steps, if any, were agreed. It also remains unclear whether Iran was explicitly discussed in the meeting itself. So the most accurate answer is that the meeting was widely believed to concern possible renewed action against Iran and related military preparations, but the precise secret actions discussed remain unknown.
