Summary
Federal prosecutors say David Sartin Jr., 40, robbed two Florida banks in August and September 2026 while on supervised release, using a prosthetic "old man" mask similar to one tied to his earlier crimes.
Investigators linked him to the holdups through surveillance footage, a Toyota FJ Cruiser used in prior Texas robberies, and video showing a bicycle route between one bank and the getaway vehicle.
A Sept. 19 arrest for violating supervised release led agents to a bicycle, clothing, a matching mask, glasses and a fake handgun; they also said Sartin repainted the SUV’s roof after the second robbery.
The two robberies netted about $2,900 from a Largo Valley Bank and roughly $2,554 from a St. Petersburg Truist branch, according to the criminal complaint.
Sartin previously served more than 10 years in a Texas case involving five bank robberies and now faces up to 20 years in prison on each new count if convicted.
