Summary
Skyler AJ Rose, 22, was indicted on federal charges including attempted hate crime after prosecutors said he threatened on social media to "blow up" a synagogue.
Six functional pipe bombs, one inert device, explosive precursors, two rifles, magazines and ammunition were seized from his Ogden home after the FBI traced the posts to his IP address.
A search of Rose's phone also allegedly found he had looked for a nearby synagogue in November 2025, which prosecutors cited as evidence of a planned attack.
Hundreds of cached child sexual abuse images and screenshots were also allegedly found on the phone, adding receipt and possession of child pornography charges.
Rose is due in federal court in Salt Lake City on Oct. 23, as Justice Department officials cast the case as a foiled attack on a place of worship.
