Jacob Allen Morley, 28, escaped the Northwest Correctional Complex in Tiptonville on Sunday, triggering a manhunt after prison staff found him missing around 11:30 p.m.
Security video showed Morley breaching a fence while still in prison clothing, and the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation said he should be considered dangerous and placed him on the state's most wanted list.
Federal and state law enforcement are assisting the search for Morley, who was serving a life sentence after his 2025 conviction for the 2022 murder of Cody Birchfield.
Morley was also convicted of burglary, vandalism, tampering with evidence and evading arrest; investigators found Birchfield's body under Morley's home after Morley's March 2022 arrest following a police chase.
