Summary
More than 27.4 million Americans had voted early by 6 a.m. Monday, leaving eight days before the Nov. 3 midterm elections.
Texas led the early-vote count with more than 4.35 million ballots, reflecting intense interest in a closely watched Senate race between Republican Ken Paxton and Democrat James Talarico.
Michigan had logged over 986,000 early votes, with Republican Mike Rogers and Democrat Abdul El-Sayed locked in another competitive Senate contest.
The surge comes as both parties intensify their final-week push, with Donald Trump and JD Vance campaigning for Republicans while Democrats target control of Congress by framing the vote around Trump's agenda.
