Summary
Nvidia said allegations that a person close to CEO Jensen Huang was a Chinese intelligence asset had already been investigated and debunked, rejecting a New York Times report on U.S. surveillance of Alice Huang.
Megaspeed, the Singapore-based cloud company linked to Alice Huang, is simply a regional Nvidia customer, the company said, adding Jensen Huang speaks with thousands of customers and does not share trade secrets or national-security information.
Nvidia also disputed claims that Megaspeed helped evade U.S. export controls, saying those diversion allegations were thoroughly examined last year and that the company had not been warned by Washington about any threat tied to Alice Huang.
The dispute lands as Nvidia navigates U.S.-China chip tensions: Huang has cultivated ties with President Donald Trump while lobbying to sell some chips to China, even as officials fear Nvidia hardware could aid Chinese AI and military development.
China has still blocked some U.S. AI chips, Nvidia said, and the company last year took a roughly $4.5 billion write-off on China-tailored processors.
