Summary
Seven people were shot Friday evening inside a Spirit Halloween store at Fairfield's Solano Town Center mall, and one later died while three remained in critical condition.
Fairfield police said the gunman was still at large late Friday, with detectives interviewing witnesses and working an active crime scene to identify the suspect.
Authorities released no details on the victims or a possible motive as shoppers were buying last-minute costumes on the night before Halloween.
A separate Spirit Halloween shooting in Madison Heights, Michigan, also turned deadly Friday; police there said a 21-year-old suspect was in custody after a brief altercation.
