Ben DiNucci Blasts Cowboys After 33-30 OT Loss as Dallas Falls to 0-5 vs Cardinals at Home

Q: What specific off-field distractions are secretly derailing the Dallas Cowboys' season despite their massive roster talent?

There is no verified evidence of any specific “secret” off-field distraction derailing the Cowboys. What exists is Ben DiNucci’s suggestion that the team may be affected by the broader noise around the franchise, not a documented scandal or single hidden cause. The strongest factual thread in the reporting is the Cowboys’ constant external spotlight. Dak Prescott has openly acknowledged the nonstop media scrutiny that comes with being the face of “America’s Team,” while owner Jerry Jones regularly keeps the franchise in the headlines. That environment can create pressure, controversy and daily distractions, but the available reporting does not identify one concrete off-field issue inside the locker room. What is documented more clearly is on-field instability and internal strain: repeated late-game collapses, questions about leadership, criticism of effort and consistency, and public calls for Prescott and CeeDee Lamb to take firmer control of the locker room. There are also ordinary NFL disruptions such as injuries, trade speculation and coaching criticism, all of which add noise but are not evidence of a hidden off-field problem. So the best-supported answer is that the “distractions” appear to mean the Cowboys’ year-round circus of media attention, owner-driven headlines, public criticism and internal pressure—not any confirmed secret off-field incident. The bigger problem, based on the reporting, remains football performance and leadership under pressure.

A 33-30 overtime collapse to Arizona drew Ben DiNucci's "embarrassing" verdict after Dallas blew a 10-point lead with 3:54 left and a 14-point fourth-quarter edge.
Dallas had won its previous 69 home games when leading by at least 14 points in the fourth, but still needed a missed Cardinals extra point just to reach overtime.
Gardner Minshew, entering for Jacoby Brissett, helped spark Arizona's comeback, deepening a slide that has left the Cowboys with three losses in four weeks.
DiNucci said effort and locker-room leadership are the bigger issues, while owner Jerry Jones has indicated a midseason firing of coach Brian Schottenheimer is not under consideration.
The defeat heightened pressure on a team still chasing its division, with the Colts, Titans and Eagles up next before Dallas reaches its Week 14 bye.
