Judge Orders 4 Prosecutors to Testify in Broadview Six Case as Ex-FBI Chief Sues DOJ

Summary
Nov. 16 testimony was ordered for U.S. Attorney Andrew Boutros and three assistants after Judge April Perry said there was ample basis to examine whether willful false statements were made to the court.
Douglas DePodesta, the former FBI Chicago chief, sued Justice Department officials Monday, alleging he was forced out after being wrongly blamed for the collapse of the Broadview Six prosecution.
The lawsuit says Boutros pushed politically driven felony cases against anti-Trump immigration protesters before evidence was gathered and later tried to pin the failed case on DePodesta under pressure from Washington.
Six Broadview defendants were charged last October, but prosecutors dropped the case in May after grand jury transcripts showed jurors twice declined to indict; the court has since expanded its misconduct inquiry.
The dispute now reaches beyond one failed protest case, with former defendants seeking a special counsel and the lawsuit tying DePodesta's resignation to pressure that he says came up to FBI Director Kash Patel.
