Caitlin Clark Backs Jack Campbell After 26-Year-Old Reports Movement Progress

Q: What does Caitlin Clark's viral message reveal about the enduring bonds of her early Iowa basketball days?

Caitlin Clark’s message shows that the relationships from her earliest Iowa years still matter to her, even after college stardom and a WNBA career. By reposting the update on Jack Campbell’s recovery, adding blue hearts, and tagging Megan Campbell, Clark signaled that former teammates remain part of her inner circle in moments that go far beyond basketball. The gesture is especially meaningful because Megan Campbell, then Megan Meyer, was with Clark during the 2020-21 Iowa season, before Iowa became the national phenomenon associated with Clark’s later years. That suggests Clark’s loyalty is not limited to the teammates from her most famous runs to the NCAA title games, but extends back to earlier stages of her development in Iowa City. The broader pattern in recent coverage supports that reading. Clark has continued to publicly celebrate former Hawkeyes teammates’ life milestones, react to engagements, repost career updates, and describe Iowa coaches and teammates as “family.” Her support for Megan in a family health crisis fits that same pattern of sustained connection. In practical terms, the viral post reveals that Clark’s Iowa bond is enduring, personal and active. It reflects a culture of long-term loyalty from her college days—one in which shared time as student-athletes still translates into visible support when former teammates face major life moments.
