- More than 30,000 votes separated Derek Tran from Republican Chuong Vo, giving the Democratic incumbent reelection in California's 45th Congressional District.
- Hours after polls closed, Tran was projected the winner in a contest that had been widely watched as competitive before Election Day.
- Nearly $6 million in fundraising helped fuel Tran's campaign, compared with $937,000 for Vo, a former Cerritos mayor and retired police officer.
- Tran, an Army veteran and son of Vietnamese refugees, had flipped the district blue in 2024 and now holds it for Democrats again.
