NYT Readers Submit 200-Plus Cartoons Honoring P.C. Vey After His Death

Summary
More than 200 readers sent single-panel cartoons to The New York Times after it invited submissions in the style of late New Yorker cartoonist P.C. Vey.
The entries centered on everyday absurdities, uneasy encounters with technology and often futile self-improvement efforts — themes the paper said echoed Vey’s humor.
Tina Vey, the cartoonist’s wife, singled out cartoons about retirement saving and avoiding people, saying the submissions captured “the essence of Peter.”
The Times published a selection of the reader cartoons as a tribute to Vey, who recently died after a long career at The New Yorker.
