2 Female Deer Trade Hoof Blows in Backyard Fight as Fawns Look On

A backyard video captured two female deer rearing onto their hind legs and striking each other with front hooves during a brief fight.
The woman who filmed it said she heard "thumping, bumping and thrashing" from upstairs, ran to the window and recorded the clash through a mesh screen.
Her account suggested both does were defending their young, and the footage shows 2 fawns nearby as the animals exchange several blows.
One doe eventually backs off, ending the standoff and underscoring that aggressive deer fights are not limited to antler-locking bucks during rutting season.
