July 18’s 9 p.m. concert in the Apostolic Palace courtyard will honor Pope Leo XIV, with all tickets already allocated for the Castel Gandolfo event.
The Diocese of Albano said the performance is meant as a gesture of affection and communion after the pope’s renewed presence in its territory, which Bishop Vincenzo Viva said has brought local joy.
Marco Rogliano will open with Paganini’s “La Polacca,” followed by Rossana Tomassi Golkar in a new Bellini-inspired work written for her by Oscar-winning composer Luis Bacalov.
I Musici di Parma’s 55-member orchestra, led by Pier Carlo Orizio, will accompany the soloists, while a visual production and a Bechstein grand piano from the Fabbrini Collection round out the program.
The event also highlights local backing for the pope’s stay at Castel Gandolfo, with Bishop Viva thanking diocesan staff, the Pontifical Villas, the Papal Household and regional benefactors.
