Microsoft Ships Visual Studio Code 1.131 With Subagent Tracking and Built-In Dictation

Summary
Released July 29, Visual Studio Code 1.131 adds subagent monitoring, preview dictation across chat, editors and the terminal, and a new hybrid Markdown editor in the Agents window.
The subagent update lets developers see a running subagent’s model, runtime and active tool from the main conversation without opening that subagent’s thread.
Built-in dictation is experimental and shares one speech session and microphone selection across all three surfaces, aiming to prevent overlapping recordings and misplaced text.
Markdown editing is also experimental, letting users view files, edit them in place and add comments an agent can act on, while accessibility changes make terminal output less disruptive for screen readers.
Version 1.131 arrived just 1 week after VS Code 1.130, with 1.132 expected soon.
