Land-Sea Economic Forum Draws 200 to Kuala Lumpur as Malaysia Launches AI Strategy

Nearly 200 government, business and academic representatives met in Kuala Lumpur on July 30 at the 2026 Land-Sea Economic Forum to discuss AI-driven industrial upgrading, cross-border investment, digital content and corporate globalization.
Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation used the forum to introduce the new "Malaysia AI" strategy, pitching the country to Chinese companies as a regional hub for expansion into ASEAN.
Speakers tied that push to the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor, saying it has cut shipping times between Western China and Southeast Asian ports from weeks to days while AI improves logistics, customs and capital allocation.
WCICO and the Center for Advanced Studies & Research also opened the Bridging News Kuala Lumpur Station and released a report urging Chinese firms to localize production, build brands and deepen supply-chain links in Malaysia.
