D’Sean Jones, 24, of Danville was found dead around 4:16 a.m. Saturday in the 400 block of Fayette Street, while two women were treated for gunshot wounds.
Martinsville Police said no one was in custody and no suspect information was available as of 8:30 a.m., leaving investigators to search the area and interview witnesses.
One wounded woman was found at the scene, and a second arrived at a hospital on her own after the shooting.
Fayette Street was expected to stay closed for most of Saturday from High Street to Peters Street as police processed the scene for evidence.
