Six Ukrop’s Homestyle Foods products are being pulled after the company said they may contain small metal pieces, with affected “Best By” dates running from July 6 through Aug. 5.
A routine review found a sliver of aluminum in a baking pan used to make the products, and a similar fragment was also found in a Chicken Cobbler item.
The recall covers Baked Spaghetti, Chicken Cobbler, and Bread Pudding with Vanilla Sauce — including bulk and kit versions — sold at chains including Food Lion, Kroger, Publix, Harris Teeter and some Wegmans stores in Virginia, North Carolina, West Virginia and Kentucky.
Ukrop’s said no injuries have been reported, retailers are removing the items from shelves, and customers should not eat them but return them for a full refund.
The company said no other products are affected, while the baking pan supplier has been notified and is pulling potentially affected pan lots from distribution.
