Outshine Recalls 6 Fruit Bar Packs Nationwide Over Glass Contamination

Yes. Because the recalled Outshine Fruit Bars carry best-by dates running from June through November 2027, affected boxes could still be sitting in home freezers unnoticed. Dreyer’s Grand Ice Cream said the recall is nationwide and limited to five 6-count, 2.5-ounce Outshine flavors: Strawberry, Watermelon, Grape, Tangerine and Black Cherry. The concern is possible glass contamination, a foreign-material hazard that can cause cuts to the mouth, throat or digestive tract if eaten. As of the recall announcement, the company said it had received no reports of injuries or illness. Consumers should check the underside of the box for the UPC and batch code or best-by date. The recalled products include Strawberry with UPC 041548610047 and best-by dates of Sept. 30, Oct. 31 or Nov. 30, 2027; Watermelon with UPC 041548413624 and best-by dates of June 30 or July 31, 2027; Grape with UPC 041548244044 and best-by dates of Sept. 30 or Oct. 31, 2027, plus UPC 041548000121 with a best-by date of July 31, 2027; and Tangerine with UPC 041548612041 and a best-by date of Oct. 31, 2027. Dreyer’s also said select Black Cherry bars are included, and consumers should verify the package batch code. Anyone who has one of the recalled boxes should not eat it. The company says customers can return it to the retailer for a full refund or throw it away. Anyone who thinks they were harmed should seek medical attention.
